A disgruntled Aguirre Counted Their pay out, grumbling inaudibly at them all the while - words entre ground up teeth That Would Have Caused Perhaps the MOST optimistic events dentist, upon seeing Them, to entertain Suicidal Thoughts vaguely.

Jack Grabbed the brim of historical Resistol hat and historical Turned around Until I found the front of it, a little gesture repetition That Had Turned Into a habit for him. His blue eyes Seemed to play with the little rays of sunlight That sneaker past the brim, highlighting the expression of pure innocence and friendliness that was his ineffable essence.

He glanced at Ennis almost shyly. His voice was light, shaken by a sense of dismayed anticipation, as though he could already hear the unwanted answer…..

“Ennis…. You gonna do this again next summer?”

Hat pulled down, covering his eyes, Ennis scowled at the ground as if bothered by the question.

“Umm…. Dunno, Jack. Just don’t know ‘bout that.”

Ennis answered carefully, forcing calm against the unease that stirred inside him. Things were settled as they were; he was gonna marry Alma, make good on his promise to her. Just had to be.

He was a man, strong and sure and made that way; the very depth of his own conviction prevented him from seeing the impact of his answer - an answer less crushing and final to his own ears than it perhaps came across.

CHay from him. His blank mind was suspended from reality, steeped in a world of sour thoughts and unhappiness. As if to make things worse, a headache was coming on, making it hard to distinguish what pain was coming from his body and what was hurting him from further inside still, from the depths of his bitterness.

He looked again into the rear view mirror, searching for the lean silhouette of Ennis, which grew progressively smaller as the distance between them stretched out…. until at last the little shadow disappeared entirely.

Jack hadn’t seen him look up even onceHTMLXC And what words they had shared! Sweet and perfect promises, sworn and sealed by the power of their devotion; promises that had ensnared them and would never allow them to forget.

No! Jack couldn’t believe he had let it come to this. They had been happy there, up in those damn mountains…. would it never be like that again? Everything, even Mike, the first love of his life, had been forgotten that summer; being with Ennis had been happiness itself, a joy so strong that Jack was unable to remember anything else.

Beneath those secrets to which they had borne sole living witness lay an undeniable truth; a bond so strong, so intense, so intimate between them that neither had the power to undo it.

Their lives were fated to contain moments just like this; long stretches of wasted time would give way, suddenly and as if by magic, to the sudden action of universal destiny, changing their lives forever – or perhaps the action had begun within themselves, for truly, what could be more human than the power to change our destinies?

He looked down the highway, which now seemed more repulsive Before to him than ever, this road Same, Which Would I have eleven supposed to lead him to new life, Had taken him INSTEAD to rodeo after rodeo, cowboy after cowboy, long nights of abandoning His own body, Becoming someone else's Jack, Another Jack Who burned with desire entre His legs, longing to Be fucked, Those Needing painful, fiery minutes Each Time When I Could Forget the wreckage of historical Hopes and affections. And Each Time I Would regret it Afterwards, I Would Hate Them, Wish I Could Would Himself Completely scrub away Because I felt so dirty and wrong ....

" Goddamnit No, no! "Things Could not go back to Being thaned Against the floor, Even Without the energy to look pissed anymore. Slowly, Ennis let out a deep breath, he'd gone crazy at first, But the guilt meat hot on heels ... ITS. He Could not ignore the sheer look of sorrow on Jack's face Any Longer. He released Jack's arm, and a familiar aspect of sadness stole over Ennis' demeanor.

"Jack, what're you doin 'back here ?.... C'mere, cowboy. "

Tenderly now, I stand up helper historical friend, wrapping His arms around him, Needing sudde’ve got our whole lives ahead a us - we could have ourselves a real sweet life together, never hafta be apart again. C’mon, Ennis…. Fuck! Don’t you tell me no!” and now he could no longer keep the tears from coming to his eyes. “Ennis! Ennis fer God’s sake….”

Reeling, destroyed to his very core, Ennis made a supreme effort to smile back at him. Hiding his face in Jack’s neck, he murmured, hot breath brushing smoothly over the nape as he said gently, just as he’d learned how during long hours camped together under the night sky, instructed by the power of his love: C HTMLXC

"Jack .... my lil 'darlin Jack - and know why I cain't Do That, Jack. You know what i think 'bout this goddamn fear .... "

Ennis
For That Day Would Never forget whenhis Took him and KE father, hand in hand, to See That gruesome trophy, the lifeless body of Earl lying in a ditch, dead, humiliate, and destroy crushed like a savage sacrifice.

Dead? No !.... That Murdered by criminal hate, which inflamed the hearts of beasts that presumed to call themselves men….

With desperate force, they hugged each other, bodies and souls alike crying out with the depth of their pain.

It was sometime after this, after Ennis pressed his lips tenderly against Jack’s, filling him with the gentleness of his feeling, that Ennis finally offered him the sweetest confession of all.

“Jack…. I love you, Jack…. my darlin. Love you more than I ever woulda thought I could love anyone. Yer the best damn thing that’s ever happened in my whole fucked-up life.”

Jack shivered with pleasure, pressing himself closer still to that body he had come to adore so much, with its now familiar scent of sweat and tobacco; he kissed and caressed the little triangle of Ennis’ bare chest that poked through the angle of his collar, squeezed him even more tightly against himself, knowing instinctively what it was that they both wanted.

And right there against the wall, they made viLXC

The pick-up truck disappeared in the distance, throwing up a little cloud of dust in its wake - a magic vapor stirred up by a capricious wind to attend the vanishing form of Jack as he drove on, defeated, bewildered, abandoned by all his hopes.

Ennis never took his eyes off him; sad but resigned, he knew that there was no other way for them. He had to be the one to keep their secret safe from the danger, the one who was strong enough to make this sacrifice for both their sakes.

Before Jack disappeared from view, lost behind the little stand of cottonwood That lined the first curve of the road WHERE Ennis months ago Had Approaching first seen him, Ennis and Lifted Up His Hand, Slightly shaking, I felt him a kiss, an invisible kiss, precious and ephemeral, a last goodbye.
